About Me

My love of photography dates back well over 30 years. I took my first class in film photography in 1990 as a freshman in high school. As a teenager, I rarely went anywhere without a camera. I worked on my school papers as the photographer. I learned how to create a story with pictures, how to color correct in a dark room and how to double expose the old fashioned way. I was obsessed with black and white photography because it held such emotion. I loved taking snapshot of my friend when they weren't expecting it and I remember the excitement that came whenever I laid that paper in the bath of developing chemicals for the first time and waited to see if what I saw through the lens was properly captured. I have been obsessed ever since.

Growing up, we didn't take a lot of family photos. In fact, I'm fairly certain that there isn't a single family photo that exists of my parents and all of us girls. I am the youngest of 3 and my oldest sister who is 11 years my senior always made sure that my parents had professional photographs of their daughters. I loved being able to get all dressed up for photos to surprises my parents with beautifully framed photographs taken at...wait for it...Olan Mills (Who remembers that studio?). Unfortunately my mom passed away in 2012 so getting a family portrait taken now isn't an option for us but I can certainly make sure that YOU have family photos that you can look back on and remember moments that are precious to you.

I am so fortunate that that my passion for art and photography has allowed me to work with amazing people both in front of my lens and behind the scenes.
